About Online Banking

We offer online banking as a convenient way to do your banking 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Online banking is a secure and easy way to do your everyday banking such as pay your bills, transfer funds, view your account balances and so much more.  Online banking is accessible anywhere you are, as long as you have access to a computer with an internet connection.  At Quinte First Credit Union we provide Online Banking to our members at no charge.

How It Works

When you log into online banking for the first time, you will be required to select three challenge questions that you will provide answers to.  This information will then be attached to your account.  The purpose of this is designed to help prevent “phishing” scams and other fraudulent activity. 

 

Security Questions

You will also be required to select three security questions from a list of available questions and provide answers to your selected questions.  When you register your security questions with us a “cookie” will be placed on your computer system.  This “cookie” is a small piece of data containing information used to identify you each time you log into online banking.  After choosing your security questions you will have the option to select whether you want us to permanently remember the computer from which you are logging on from.  If you make this selection you will not be prompted to answer your security questions when logging into online banking from that computer, as it will be identified as a trusted computer.  For security reasons we recommend that you do not make this selection from a publicly accessible computer or any other system that other people might use.

When you log onto online banking from a computer that you have not identified as a trusted computer or if you ever delete your browsers “cookies”, you will be required to answers one of your three security questions to verify your identity.  You will always be given the opportunity to register the computer you are logging in from as a trusted computer to avoid prompting you for these security questions.  Should you incorrectly answer any of your security questions after a few attempts you will become locked out of your account.  If you become locked out of your account you will need to visit one of our branches to verify your identity and we will be able to unlock your account.

Personal Access Code (PAC) Enhancements Coming Soon Expand/Collapse

We are currently in the processing of increasing your online banking security with enhancements to your Personal Access Code (PAC). Once these updates have been completed, the requirements for your PAC will change.  There is nothing you need to do right now. When the time comes, we will guide you through the simple process of changing your PAC.

What are the new PAC enhancements?

The new enhancements will require your PAC to be more complex. Currently your PAC must only contain up to 8 numbers only.

When we are ready to launch, your new PAC will need to meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be at least 8 characters long
  • Must contain at least one uppercase letter
  • Must contain at least one lowercase letter
  • Must contain at least one number
  • May include special characters such as: ! @ $ ?


Is there anything I need to do now?
 

There is nothing you need to do right now. We will guide you through the process of updating your PAC when the new enhancements become available. 

In the meantime, we recommend your current PAC be the maximum length of 8 digits. You can change your current PAC when signed into Online Banking from the Profile and Preferences menu.
