Interac e-TransferInterac e-Transfer is a convenient way to send, request and receive money.  All you need is an email and/or mobile phone number and an account at a Canadian financial institution.

As a sender, you don't need to worry about figuring out where the person banks and they won't know where you do your banking, because all account details and financial institutions are kept confidential.

It's easy. There's no need to set up any new accounts, user IDs or passwords. As long as both parties have online banking accounts, all you need to send or receive money is the recipient's mobile phone number or email address.

It's secure. When you send an Interac e-Transfer by text or email, the money never travels with the message. Instead, recipients receive an encrypted link to deposit the funds using their own banking credentials.

It's convenient. With Interac e-Transfer, you can use any computer or mobile phone to send or receive money instantly by text or by email. Whether you owe your friend, he owes you or they just don't take plastic, you'll never need to worry about carrying cash again.

It's quick. Recipients are notified by email and/or text that they have received a payment within approximately 30 minutes from when the sender initiates the transfer.

Securely send money from one account to another


Sending money using Interac e-Transfer simplifies everyday payments and is a convenient alternative to cheques and cash.

Send from Online Banking:

  1. Log into your online banking account and select Send Interac e-Transfer located under the Transfers menu.
  2. If this is your first time sending an e-Transfer you will need to click Edit Sender Profile to complete the inital setup.
  3. Choose the recipient you wish to send the transfer to (or click Add New Recipient to setup a new recipient).
  4. Select the account you wish to send the transfer from, enter the amount of the transfer and optional message to the recipient.
  5. When finished click the Send Transfer button.  The recipient will then be notified that they have been sent an e-Transfer and will have the option to accept or reject the transfer.

Send from Mobile App:

  1. Log into your account through the Quinte First Mobile App, select Transfers, and then INTERAC e-Transfer®.
  2. Select the account you wish to send the funds from, then select a recipient to receive the funds.  Note: You can manage recipients from Settings within the Transfers menu.
  3. Now enter the amount of the funds transfer and optional memo to the recipient.  When finished click the Continue button.
  4. The recipient will then be notified that they have been sent an e-Transfer and will have the option to accept or reject the transfer.

Easily request money with the Interac e-Transfer Request Money feature


When you send a request for money, the recipient will receive a notification instantly and can accept or reject the request.  If accepted, the money will be automatically deposited into your account and you will be notified when the funds are available.

Request from Online Banking:

  1. Log into your online banking account and navigate to Request Interac e-Transfer located under the Transfers menu.
  2. Select a recipient to send the request to or you can add a new recipient.  Then enter the amount and choose the account you wish the funds to be deposited to.
  3. Once you have finished entering all the required information, click on the Request button.
  4. Once the recipient has fulfilled your request, the funds will be immediately deposited into your account and you will be notified.

Request from Mobile App:

  1. Log into your account through the Quinte First Mobile App and select the Transfers option.
  2. From the Transfers menu select Interac e-Transfer®, then select Request.
  3. Choose the recipient to send the request to (you can manage your recipients from the Settings option located in the Transfers menu.)
  4. Choose the account you wish the funds to be deposited to, enter the amount you are requesting, acknowledge the terms and then select Continue.
  5. Once the recipient has fulfilled your request, the funds will be immediately deposited into your account and you will be notified.


Autodeposit Expand/Collapse

Receive money directly into your account with Autodeposit


With the autodeposit feature you can have money sent via Interac e-Transfer automatically deposited directly into your account, without having to sign into your account or answer a security question.

Setup from Online Banking:

  1. Log into your online banking account and navigate to Send Interac e-Transfer located under the Transfers menu.
  2. Click the Autodeposit link
  3. Registering your email address and selecting the account you wish to autodeposit funds to.
  4. You will receive an email to confirm your registration. Check your inbox and complete the registration process. 

Setup from Mobile App:

  1. Log into your account through the Quinte First Mobile App and select the Transfers option.
  2. From the Transfers menu select Interac e-Transfer®, then select Settings and finally select Autodeposit.
  3. Select Add Email to register your email address and Select Account to choose the account you wish to autodeposit funds to.  You must read and agree to the terms and then select Update.
  4. You will receive an email to confirm your registration. Check your inbox and complete the registration process.
